    Thanks for the reps. I'm not a dodge guy I'm a retired ford mechanic... I retired that job when I got tired of working on the thing every day now I'm a cummins mechanic and it sure is nice to enjoy beer

    Thanks for the reps! You also made a very interesting comment with the reps that I would like to acknowledge. Like you said, I hope to be able to find these posts in future searches also! Occasionally I have searched for information, and found a post that addressed exactly what I was looking for, and to my surprise it turns out that I was the one who wrote the post quite a few years earlier on a forgotten forum under whatever user name wasn't taken at that time. Not only did I forget making the post, I didn't remember the content contained within the post until my recollection was refreshed by it once again. So that is one advantage of sharing information when we are able to distill it some of it. Not only is can the distillation be used by, challenged by, and corrected by others. It can later be returned back to us when we forget. Usually our own posts show up first when we enter keyword searches, because we are re-using the very same words we think in.

    Just now saw your reply of 31 January 2012. Your question as to my being able to identify the hard start problem....never pursued the problem any further. I'm sure that if I replaced the glow plugs the problem may not go away completely, but would be less noticeable. Thanks for your reply. David
