'98 5.4 4x4. All new to this. Walked up to my p/u yesterday and saw fluid coming from underneath. Looked under and horrified to see constant drip from tranny. After looking around I determined that the heater core casing must have a drain line for leaks and it comes out right above the tranny. So my core must have a leak. Plus, that explains the smell of antifreeze while driving.
Now, you say it only took you 5 hrs? Tough job? I had an '87 5.0 and I had to gut out my entire interior to get to core. It took me a whole weekend. Please tell me this is easier? Any tips or short cuts? Special tools required?
