How's it going Lakewood, the guy that told me about the CAT EC1 coolant hardens seals n gaskets is the service manager for Ryder the shop behind TG Lee on Weatfield, anyways, we lease our trucks there and i called was looking for the EC1 coolant and they don't have it but he offered that info that i don't know how much he knows 6.0, so. I found the EC1 coolant at the Caterpillar Ring Power on 301 941-359-6000 $11.48/gal 6 gallons to a case, I just installed my coolant filter this weekend and hopefuly i'll receive my Fumoto valves ordered from amazon to do the coolant flush and then put the filter to service. I downloaded a bulletin for F250 Superduty 6.0L cooling system, flush and maintenance, towards the end "Coolant Selection" it says that International made this engines and they use CAT EC1 as a recommended coolant due to it being Silicate Free and does not breakdown on high temps therefore the oil cooler, radiator, EGR, etc will live and perform longer.

Thanks Lakewood,
I thought you never got my masage, thanks for your reply, I'm making plans with my mechanic to delete the egr cooler, also getting the things i need to do a coolant flush-fill, I'm replacing the ford coolant for the Cat EC-1, a few guys recomend to flush first with Fleetguard Restore, flush w distilled water and refill with the EC-1 it's what International trucks use and have lesser oil cooler issues, the label says Silicate Free. Just making a comment to a mechanic from Ryder company we use at work for our trucks said that if I put EC-1 it will harden and brittle the gaskets and water pump seals, he also said that the ford premium gold that has the silicate (some people say it's responsible for clogging the oil cooler) that this coolant contains lubricants to preserve the seals, etc. I hope I'm making the wright thing here, my truck has 63k miles, stock, no problems what so ever i just want to give it the maintenance it deserves,
thanks again for your reply

Hello kakewood, I need an advice on exhaust, i saw your mods to your truck, I have a 2006 6.0L stock, a friend who has(7.3) adviced that a bigger exhaust = cooler engine, but some people in here complain about some power loss when they do a 4" turbo back exhaust, I'm looking at the MBRP 4" turbo back. Did you have to install a program after you did your exhaust? What do you advice?
thanks

Hey Lakewood, Im from Bradenton too (05' f350 dually), was hoping you might know a reputable transmission tech in the area. I was wanting to beef up the trans and dont really trust most avg local trans shops as I know the 5r110's are a bit more "savvy" compared to the older style trans out there. I appreciate your time!

Millage, I did not read threw all the post and the sensor sounds good I nned to look at mine. Somethings that helped me and my millage were glow plugs, chip, and the frx and in tank mods. I am sure the other things help out but those where what I could see a difference.
