Nope not him, I have been in construction for over thirty years, and I got that nickname from a friend I used to work with for my ability to figure out a way to make things work with the resources that I have at hand. It just kind of stuck. I use it a lot for user names because it is easy to remember.

hey, guy! I havent been on here in forever! I got rid of my truck because I had to move, and I was so depressed, I just gave up on the whole thing for a while. I saw a cool old 4X4 the other day, and it got my juices flowing again! But, somebody bought it.....I am still interested in getting another

yeah they both put out great low end torque and have a nice even power band. They are really the only 2 I have seen suggested for the 87-94ish SD 351w.

I am renting the house I'm in and it came with the wood burner. That being said, I cut 4-5 cords this last summer/fall and have had a hard time burning it all with the wood burner... The burner has been finicky and back drafting on me when wind is high, during storms and lower presssure systems. I use it mostly so if the power goes down the house doesn't get cold. I have a 9-5 job and it's hard to burn the wood up when you can only do it from 5:30pm-10pm everyday and that's when I don't have other things to do after work. When my wife and I buy a house in the next year or two I plan to have a wood burner in a morton building with my trucks and tools, and one in the house attached to the furnace ducting.

I burn it for heat... I have a 4-5 year old electric heat pump furnace but I still run the wood burner to keep the energy bill low. I also trade it to my neighbor so I can barrow his hydralic wood spliter... And so he'll do my spring tune up on my bike.

As for the 351w cam. The two cams you want to look at would be a Comp Cams 35-255-5 or a Crane 444232. I have a Comp Cam 35-255-5 with zero miles on it that I am going to sell soon (just fyi). And where do you live????

just be careful of what 351w you get... if you want more power you want a MAF motor... Granted anything will have more power than the 1bbl 300 I6 you have but the cam options are very very limited for the EFI non-MAF 351w motors (aka SD or Speed Density). You'll be looking for a 94.5-97 F250. I've actually been toying with the concept of choping the front off the 80-86 fender and patching it to the 87-96/7 fender... get the kool old school look on a newer EFI truck... and it won't have the ugly non-rounded fenders...

So why are you chillin in the 87-96/7 forums if you have a 86?

PS: the best thing about that makita 6401 is that you can jump the displacement up by adding a piston and cylinder kit to it for a small sum... that's something neither stihl or husky can do readily... the 6401 is a little un-weildly at first if you're not used to a big saw... but very worth every penny. I would have bought one new if i had to! My 6401 gets to say inside where it's warm all winter... That's how much I love it!
