Hi I just joined, i was reading that you might have an old donor m.100 emblem to reverse engineer? I was looking at doing that as i work in a prototype machine shop and have a 54 merc also. My truck is a bit weird though. The body says 53 but the vin says r which i assume is 54 . Might be an early 54 that they just used parts up on. Do you know much about the vin serial sequence #?

I am running the stock tank; no issues other than noise. I would put them on the other side, if done again. Just allow enough vent room next to the tank.

Hi; it needs to be warmed up for sure. I currently am running premium gas, with the timing at 6 deg.BTDC. Lead addative in the gas, because my valve seats are not hardened. After all that it runs great.
