Hey man I've seen your truck and I like it . I have a couple questions about your ifs swap, I have a 66 and I got a 08 cv ifs given to me I was wondering what brake booster and power steering pump u used ? I have access to a brand new booster/master cylinder out of a 86 econo line van I was wondering of this would work ? Thanks
Hi Romak
Slowly getting there, so many small bracket to make, takes a lot of time
Trying to decide where to put the computer, running a 5.0 HO fuel injected, was considering putting in A/C later and only spot left seems mean no glove box. Where did you install your computer, can it be left in the engine compartment.
Thanks
Rick
I'm at the naked frame stage, as soon as my compressor is fixed ill be boxing the frame, adding a k member and ridetech strong arms with shockwaves air system air pod and controls. Mustang II its dimensions, 14" wilwoods six piston, original engine - modded. 700r4 auto, not exactly set on rear yet, possibly Lincoln mk ? And 3.73's current Dana 60 4.56 with 4 link polished.
Haven't seen ya around the Texas Chapter in a while, I hope all is well. We are planning a GTG (get together in Houston on January 21st to work on each others trucks and install mods for those that have them. Stop by the Chapter forum to check it out, just wanted to say don't be a stranger LOL
Hey, I am thinking about swapping to a CV front suspension in my 1958 F-100 soon also. Could you post some pictures of the swap you did so I can get some ideas? Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you. A few questions. What did you do about converting to power brakes? Where did you get your CV front end? How much fabricating was involved? Have you ever done a front end swap before with a different type of suspension (i.e Mustang II, aftermarket, etc.) and if so how hard was this swap compared to that? And finally, is this swap as easy as I've read it to be? A day to tear out the old and a day to mock up the new and about a week or two to finalize it. This is basically what I've read in others' threads. Once again thank you.
I'd like to talk to you about your truck and some of the things you've done. i have a 60 and looking to do some of the same things. email me aronk62@gmail.com Thanks
Hi
Have 06 CV in place and an approx 78 auto column, but it has a rag joint end, the CV shaft is a square. What did you use to connect the two. Was about to cut off rag flange and weld on square end, as I have the universal form the T_Bird. Did you install new column on the old center line or did you change the angle.
Thanks
Rick
Romak, I have a 60' styleside and I have a complete donor 2000 F150 with a 5.4L. I want to talk to you a little about your CV setup and how it could work with my 5.4L and I am also needing to know what you did as far as the wiring for your 4.6L. My email is CLMARBUT@VRFMAIL.COM Thanks alot!
Hey man I'd seen your CV mod on your f100 went well, do you have pics from the build somewhere I can look at? Kinda hard sifting through the posts to find them...
Romack
Thanks for the information, will probably have lots of questions once I get going, still collecting parts, trying to find mid 70's van steering column with tilt as they appear to fit quite well. Thanks again, will keep in touch
