I am seeking info on Mercury unibody owners in FTE. I believe I asked this question a while back and you stated 1 is in the list. I am wanting to start a registry for these trucks and have sought help from other sources since Mercury pickup website has gone dead. The site is still up but no response in a year. Please send me the contact info and vin #. If you don't feel comfortable giving out this info then ask the member to contact me. Thanks for your time.

Are you looking for a 292? I have one in northern Wyo. Runs great just getting a little low on compression. Still in truck.

Alright another early 60's 4x4. Heck I'm working on my 62 4x4, I do what I can when I can afford it.

I decided to go with the 1961 F250. I don't mind the mix matched parts, I will over time aquire those original parts. In the meantime I'm going to get down to the nitty gritty and clean things up a bit. I prefer the 4x4, and although I have found a 1970 True Highboy for $3000, I sitll like the looks of the 1961 better. My 1973 was and I say was because its gone now, a great truck! The 1973 was a sweet deal so I jumped on it but was not entirely happy that it was 2wd.

So it stands I'm proud owner of a "Frankenstien Monster" as bill mentioned and he is right, but I find it a interesting and fun project. Step by step it will not kill the bank and in the end will be rewarding/full of memories.

Who knows my 8 year old son may just want the truck when he is 16 years old. So we have 8 years to work on her.

That said having what Bill said about the truck, you may be able to get the price lowered. Good luck with what ever your decision.
