    Cutting on your own property should be no problemo ... You said you have a fair stand of trees ... One thing ... If you have a tree that is leaning or is in really poor shape you can remove the bark in a palm wide ring around the trunk and let it season-on-the-stump ... But this should be done only after you exhaust all other avenues of foraging ... Down here on the Columbia we just get a skiff and tow the floating logs to the shore and chop them up ... Deputy just drives by and waves ...
