I read your post that you have replaced your VCT solenoids on your '08. I've got an audible ticking/chattering that developed recently with RPM b/w 800-1100 on a hot engine and all the research I've done points directly to the VCT solenoids (I want to replace them to avoid any other issues down the road).

I've put off working on it because we have to remove the valve covers, and I'm honestly a little worried about tackling the job. Any tips, advice, links, write-ups, or personal wisdom you have from doing this yourself.

Sadly, it was a conversion that was created by another F150 owner. He did post a write-up on how to do the conversion. I agree, they look fantastic, but they will be costly.
