Hey Kyle - thanks for the reps! Satin black has a special place in my heart... With some subtle candy red or blue accents - like along the running boards, the mirrors, rims, and FORD lettering... I can't wait to see that unibody! Man oh man do I love working on bottomless-pocketed-people's cars...

Nothing wrong with your taste. I prefer my trucks satin black.I may be painting my 1961 unibody ford satin black in the summer.

Good luck with your projects and hope your truck is working out for you.

I have a friend doing all the bodywork on a 69 charger fast and furious clone. It will be over 100,000 bucks when done. The owner has more money than sense. It should be really nice though.

Thanks for the picture of your dad's truck! That sure looks solid! I love the paint match on the rims! I gotta say - I prefer the flat black look - but I think there's something wrong with my taste in color anyways! That's one heck of a nice truck!

I understand about the manufacturers RBP, but around here code interpretation is up to the individual inspector.
Just like how caulk at penetrations no longer has to be intumescent fire rated caulk according to the '09 IRC (302.11)
...try telling that to the inspector!

It's just a matter of conflicting interests.
Of course you don't want a chase where flames can travel 3 stories up into an attic and consume the whole house.
But that shield better be a fireproof material that is easily fabricated and installed.
Sheet metal will conduct heat, but it will also shed it readily.
Packing a cavity with fireblocking insulation like Thermafiber will only cause the heat to keep building up possibly to auto-ignition temperature.

Thank you for the Rep's buddy!
Just my (9 y.o.) pup doing what she does.
We build a little different up here in New England.
Due to both the climate and 'tradition', I think.

    Alright sweet! Thanks!

Luckily the body panels aren't the rare parts.

Hey man, thanks for letting me know! The only piece I need is the one that goes on the bed in front of the driver's side rear wheel. If you look at my pictures, you can see where I'm still running the original plain aluminum molding in that spot.

You have way too much luck. I've only come across one Ranger Lariat between 6 different junkyards.
