I've got a single DIN bracket that came from my truck. Screws in top and bottom, centers the radio vertically and horizontally. If that's what you're talking about- let me know if you want it.

Rogue Wulff, It seems that you are very knowledgable about engine swaps, I just posted a thread about dropping a 302 into a '78 F-100 that has a 300 six. The truck has a 4 speed in it now, I think it has six bell housing bolts on the top and five more on the bottom counting the starter bolts. Any idea weather this motor will mate to that tranny ? Thanks for your help. - mick man

So your pops drove that 74 390 for over 500k?! without a rebuild? That is pretty remarkable on one of these old engines that weren't really made to go much past 150k.

    Greetings!
You had answered a question I had had about a FI to carb conversion - and I was wondering if you might have an answer to this one. (don't want to be starting threads all over while I'm looking for a truck)
Would the carb on an '83 300 be the same as one on an '81? as far as any "feedback" or computerized junque would go? I have a line on an '83 and would like to make sure it's not controlled in any way by anything - especially the distributor. Which I hear I'd want either the 1st Ford HEI setup or my preference, a breaker-point/condenser setup. Want to eliminate all electronics I can and be able to fix it on the road with nothing but simple tools and a basic parts store. ;o) And squeeze every MPG I can out of it without complicated doo-dads and sensors and such.
Thanks for you earlier help - I'm running out of time and may be just buying whatever comes along like this new rust-bucket as a temporary hauler. need me something before May 1st. Grr..
