If it is a NAV unit, you can have it programmed to read the dimmer data from the analog wire (aka dimmer wire) on the radio harness. If it's not a NAV unit, you can't make it recognize it. Perhaps you could tap another lighting harness wire and tie it to the dimmer wire on the radio.

I saw your post regarding CANBUS data on the the later ford radios. I'm having a problem on my 2005 F250 that I put a 2008 F250 radio in, and the only issue is it won't dim at all. All the radio backlights now stay on regardless of the dimmer position or headlight switch position. Can I contact you on email to ask you a few questions?

It feels like its dead as hell off the line then lights up but when I let my foot off the pedal it contines to rev higher than when I lift my foot off for a split second I have tried searching this problem on line but nothingthat leans in the direction of my problem. If you have any info that may help me would be awesome thanks in advance

Did you ever figure out your lagging power and continuous revving? My truck is doing the exact same thing...

If you contact member Special Tools, he has the 07 manuals on disc. He used to run a Ford dealership, and he is located right here in Austin. I just got two 05-06 discs from him today. I think he is selling them for $20 or less.
