JP, ask away, I have turned several onto the easiest swap that I have ever found. Have a friend in Tulsa doing a 52 Suburban and a 50 Willys wagon right now.

I knew if I searched long enough I would find someone who has swapped the MB diesel in a F1...seeing your build I have decided I am going with the diesel and I will prob be asking questions, I hope you wont mind.

Although it is far from being a hotrod, I love the MB diesel. Good fuel economy, long life, fairly cheap to buy plus the wow factor at shows makes it perfect. I've put about 42K miles on it in just under 4 years and hope for many more.

How do you like the OM617? Is that working well for you in your truck?

Thanks, it has been a blast! I spent 63 nights in it last year and plan to do many more than that this year. I have a teardrop gathering in late March and from there I plan to head west till I hit water and turn north till I run out of road, final destination.... Deadhorse, AK Probably put between 10-15K on the truck and trailer before I come home.

kev, the trailer is completely homebuilt. Pretty much all I started out with was a few pics that I found on the 'net, but you can find much info and a lot of friendly teardrop owners here Teardrops & Tiny Travel Trailers :: Index I have the same screen name over there too. Oh yeah, you need to hurry up and get to 25 posts, a lot more options are available to you then.
