Hello. I found this site looking for information on a 1944 truck I am thinking of buying. After reading plenty of posts I wanted to personally thank you for having posted so much helpful and hard to find information on these trucks.

I am a new member. I have a 1946 Ford two door sedan with flat head six cyl. engine. Is this engine like the engine that came in the 46 pickup? The distributor sticks out of the front of the engine like an old Ford 8n tractor. Do you know if there is a way to convert this distributor to electronic ignition? Per Tronix? Other? Thanks

Hi, I am a enthusiast from South Africa, I bought a truck I believe to be a 1946 or 47 ford pickup , I would love to get some advice as how to work out if its a numbers matching pickup and whether all the parts are right, the system seems to still be 6v but I want to get it right? It's a 8rt motor (made in Canada?)

I really would appreciate some help

Hi Gary, I have been looking for the better part of 2 years for the shroud Part # 8162 for the 226 straight 6. If you have one I would be very interested. The one I have is for the V8 and like you said is too deep and won't fit. Thanks, Cary

Can you find a way to sticky the "vin" answer at the top of the page? I've been noticing that most new questions are that one and it would save us some time...
