I followed a couple of postings on '42 trucks and hope you can help me out with questions I have about mine. I just bought a '42 truck that has been tucked away in a corn crib since '61. I was told it is a 1 ton, It has Bud style wheels and has duals on the back. The engine is a flat head. There is no box or bed on the back but it used to carry a corn sheller. The title says 99T492 for the factory number and SOS-259519 for the engine number. It is in surprisingly good shape and the engine does turn over freely. I don't have much for photos yet as it is buried pretty deep and a few things need to be moved first to get to it. Is this a truck to restore and use, or should I look at a different rear axle arrangement? I like the look of the cab and the flathead, but wheels are big and heavy and I am afraid it might be a caterpillar of a driver. What would be your thoughts on this.

Hello. I found this site looking for information on a 1944 truck I am thinking of buying. After reading plenty of posts I wanted to personally thank you for having posted so much helpful and hard to find information on these trucks.

I am a new member. I have a 1946 Ford two door sedan with flat head six cyl. engine. Is this engine like the engine that came in the 46 pickup? The distributor sticks out of the front of the engine like an old Ford 8n tractor. Do you know if there is a way to convert this distributor to electronic ignition? Per Tronix? Other? Thanks

Hi, I am a enthusiast from South Africa, I bought a truck I believe to be a 1946 or 47 ford pickup , I would love to get some advice as how to work out if its a numbers matching pickup and whether all the parts are right, the system seems to still be 6v but I want to get it right? It's a 8rt motor (made in Canada?)

I really would appreciate some help
