Hey I came across a threw about radio instillation and you had posted that you had built your own bracket to hold the new HU? How did you do this? Was it part of a factory bracket? Because I'm in the same pool right now? Except my truck does not have any bracket? The after market HU was just sitting in the hole with no attachments anywhere!!!

Thanks for your comments to Vinford. He seems bent on thinking that radio was his.

I have a 1969 F-250 Camper special,I was getting 12 volts to the coil at an idle, I replaced my resistor wire put a new coil, points, condenser, plugs, plug wires, voltage regulator, alternator on the truck and the truck ran fine. I noticed about two weeks later my lights were flickering and the truck was running roughly, like it had a miss. Vacuum checked out to be good. And pulling the wires did nothing, the miss was still there. I replaced the alt, and voltage regulator again. I have 12 volts to the coil in the start position and 8 volts to the coil when the truck runs. When I accelerate I have a miss but at idle it smooths out. So I ran the truck with out the alt, voltage regulator hooked up. I still get the miss, I even unhooked both sides of the starter relay (s,I) and the alt, regulator and it still misses. My amp gauge is not getting power either. I can run the engine with a hot wire setup and ballast resistor and the truck runs fine. I am hoping maybe you can help me here.

Ah yes, I remember seeing that now on some trucks, since I've seen a picture of it...

Looks more of a band aid fix though to be honest.

    OK pulled the tank today.
And everything ohmed out like you said, i pulled the sender, and the gauge moves with the arm as i move it.
So sure enough the float (Brass) has two micro cracks in the grove the wire snaps onto.
I have a guy that can braze it for me, but will it crack again you think?
