    Hi there, sorry for such a slow response. Not used to some of the message notifications on this site.

    The key to good mileage with the M is tuning with vacuum gauges. It's also true that when the emissions stuff is removed, you need to tinker with the distributor and carb a fair bit to get things to work right.

    Other things like tire size, gear ratios and what tranny you run all make a difference. You might get better mileage with a 4 spd for example, than with a C6, which eats about 30 horsepower just to spin your driveshaft..... (losses).

    Sometimes it's easiest to buy an aftermarket distributor to deal with the re-curving needed after all the emissions stuff is removed.
