Doesn't hurt to use it at any weight, but I would probably agree that I make sure it is on with 5k and above.

When you say weight, is it maybe 5k plus or just any weight period for when you use the tow/haul mode?

The main advantage of Tow/Haul in my opinion is for assisting in the braking. I always use it when towing anything with much weight to it. It also changes the shift points I believe (I would have to go back and check on that). I don't think that it is hard on the transmission if you don't use it when towing, as long as you take it easy on accelerations, etc..

Question: I was looking through your post on the torshift transmission in the tec folder. My question is: at what time is it necessary to use the Tow/haul mode when towing.. I have a TT that is 7200 dry and 9500 fully loaded. Thanks..

    Hi Mark,
I'm a new Ex 6.0 owner and new to diesel all together. I sure would appreciate anything you have to share (rschulte70@gmail.com). I'm slightly paranoid about the 6.0 and just owning a truck 10 years old.
    Thanks

Sorry you are having the problems and that it has not turned out to be simple and cheap. The potential for low pressure has bothered me ever since the pressure switches were removed by Ford. I understand that the switches were unreliable, but low pump pressure can lead to more extensive damage fairly quickly. That being said, I try not to let that concern cause me to jump to conclusions. I guess that is why the interest in the pressure data. The thread has the potential to help a lot of others over the future years (not much consolation though), but thanks for all the posts and I know you will keep giving us the details as you find them.

Thanks for the links. Did not get the pressure test down yet.
    Been a drizzle day here.
