Took off side molding & hit it with a shot of paint. Looks much cleaner *considering*
New leaf spring painted & ready for install. Have to take it to shop for install. Can't get rusted bolts & nuts to budge despite 1/2 of can of WD40. Got a shop manual on CD.
Steering gear is on the way and should be here before the week is over. Going to go and pick up hood & front clip this week. Shop guy is stealing the radiator & fan shroud but I'm keeping everything else so look for it on CL in the coming months!
Gave up on finding a 15 X 6 rim and got 4 Black American Racing 15 X 8 rims & slapped some Cooper 235 70's on them. Tightened up the steering gear box & it helps a bit , but have to get a new one. BIG news , found a 2.47 R & P for the rear end! Got 2 'new' doors & fenders , used passenger door & front clip. Hood looks very useable. Looks a like of the unneeded parts will go on CL after I clean them up. Might get 1/2 of my money back. Got my paint guy ready to started on the new parts. Just need the bosses OK on color. Hope she picks the same one I did! LOL
I actually had a shroud made the first time out of aluminum from a card board template I made. I wound up with a larger radiator from BeCool and a two fan with shroud set up I found in the Summitt racing catalouge . I you find mounting points on your radiator you can search for one with the correct dementions.
Swapped out old rusted 19 gal. gas tank for a nice new 38 gal tank.
New battery next week to go along with plugs & fluids.
Brakes - you are next!
Wife says no to painting it dark blue or black, but I have a couple years before coming to that river crossing.
