I have a 95 150 with the 5.0 and right at 200,000 miles. I have had it about 14 years. It has always run great but these days I don't drive it much. Got it out about a month ago and drove it highway speed for about an hour when, it started decelerating. I floored it and hit passing gear and it ran ok for a bit and then it did it again and again. Took it to a transmission shop and they said third gear had gone out so they rebuilt the tranny. $1500 dollars later it does the same thing. They did some testing and claim its the pip in the distributor. They don't do that work and sent me to some other guy. Does that even sound right????

Hello again Timbersteel I just want to make sure im getting you this info i hope so my engine is stock it is a jasper engine not sure the exact miles, because the engine was rebuilt a few years b4 i bought it 2010. And as far as the codes i am getting code 32,52, koeo not sure about 32 but 52 the power steering switch is removed the hose is plugged but i was told that the egr valve and position sensor was ok. The codes i got with key engine running were 44 air injection system failure but I removed the smog pump about a year after i bought the truck, bad bearing. Now about what you said about the o2 sensor i get a code 42 which indicates system always rich but i gutted the cat so that would probably explain that? And the last one is code 77 no idea what that one is. Do you for sure? but anyway thats all i know really about the codes and things any info would be great. oh yeah what were the other solenoids called you were talking about im not sure thanks again, Brother, Scrobbie

Sorry badger, I didn't notice your message till this morning.

Very possible. I chase this problem for some time and it's still there. One day it wasn't then the next day it's been like that and hasn't changed. I learned that when I would turn the headlights on, and blower, the guage would just continue to crep up till it looked liked it was on the verge of damaging engine, but as soon as I turned all the accessories off, it would drop back down. I finally just unhooked the sender wire and installed a Autometer analog gauge so I could have peace of mind. I have checked all grounds and the wiring in the dash, but yet to no avail could I find the culprit. I plan on someday removing the engine harness and completely check resistance in all wires.

Good Morning. I was just reading a post from you regarding high resistance in oil pressure gauge circuit. I happen to be struggling with a high [hot] reading on my temp guage, but engine shows 190 - 201 deg W/ non-contact thermometer @ T'stat housing and right by temp sending unit. Could there be a high resistance issue here as well?
Thanks in advance for ANY input.
