Mark, I replied back... I typed the wrong degree's the truck hits 198 not 189. I will still do your test next weekend, do you consider 198 within range driving around town? (not towing)

Have a wierd 1999 4R100 issue. Have reverse but no forwards. We are transmission savy. Fluid pressures all read good or slightly above. We didn't see any other external issues so we pulled it and tore it down. Fluid looked good. We were figuring to find the issue in the forward drum. Clutches are good, belleviere washer all in one piece. Seals that feed it are worn some but decent. It even air checks good. Stumped but still looking. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Pressure control solenoid. Isn't that the sensor the connector on the passengers side connects to?

Hey Mark, I need your 4R100 expertise. I've got a 2001 7.3 and I'm getting the P1747 code and the OD flashing light. I can clear the code and everything is fine until I get into it and run the rpm's up near redline and it trips the code again. Also seems to do it more frequently cold (first start, not ambient). I can't seem to get my hands to the PCS connector to check it and I'm doubting its chaffing since the problem consistently happens. I don't want to bite the bullet on a new pack if that's not it. Any thoughts?

At the least you'll need to replace the converter AND tear the trans down and clean everything. While it is all apart, rebuild it with old parts? Especially since it could be that the trans has failed, not the converter. The only way to know if the trans or the converter is the problem is to take the trans completely apart.
