    You should be able to see the front of the converter.

    Why do you think this is a transmission problem? I think you have an engine problem.

    So if the tc clutch wouldnt cause the lack of power after it warmed up then my trans sounds like it is on its way out. I am going to drop the pan and see if the filter fell off and see if there is anything else i can see.

    Thanks Mark everything I have read made it sound like the only way to drain the tc was to drain it by itself thru the bellhousing. Will i be able to see the front of he tc thru the hole in the bellhousing.

    Hello Mark you had commented on a post I had made in the 92-96 forum. I did some searches and some other forums popped up and you popped up all over them so I thought I would ask someone that knows these transmissions the best. Im having problems with my TCC slipping, I plan on doing a full trans service and draining the TC and refilling. the truck has 169,000 on her and I was wondering if the clutch in the tq was slipping would it make the truck run and have power before it is warmed up and once warmed up feel like it has an anchor towing behind it? I know the trans was serviced before I bought the truck but I do not know if the tc has ever been drained and refilled. Is there an additive I can add to give it a little more life before I buy the new TC and Trans rebuild Kit? Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for getting back with me.
    So there is nothing inside the tail shaft housing that I have to be concerned about other then some fluid? No gears or bushing in there? So the only parts I need to do the job is the tail shaft housing, a gasket that goes between the housing and the transmission - correct? Isn't there a seal at the back of the housing where the drive shaft goes in? How do you feel about a used housing verse a new housing?
    Do you know of any document that would show me how to the job?

    I'm looking for some insight from an expert on transmissions (4R75E) and I understand that you are the best. Anyway, I have a 2007 F150 that has a crack in the Tail Shaft Housing. How difficult are these to replace? Can a guy (me) do it at home in my garage? I would appreciate any advice.

    Hey Mark, with the rising number of F-250s being stolen and me living in San Antonio I have been looking into different theft deterrents. I thought about putting a switch in the Shift Lock system somewhere. I do not know anything about this but it seems like a very effective way to keep my truck from moving when I don't want it to. Could you give me some pointers on a good place to put this? Or if this is a bad idea? Thanks a lot, Zack.

    I am thinking about using it in my 2005 Excursion with the 4 speed and V10.

    I live in Colorado Springs and this is made locally here at Denver.
