Thanks!! Your help is so useful and it's better that any info that I can find in my country.. I've already buy 1.7 roller rockers because they was on a really go offer.. So, with that cam Summit 3601 or an Edelbrock 2122 and my 1.7 rockers would I have a good lift and power?? 1.7 rockers also increases 050 duration???? Remember I have gt40 (3bar) heads with stock valves but with a Really good port work.. And stock ho Headers. I can run a cam of that lift (471,.474) 1.7 rockers with stock gt40 valve Springs?

If you pick a cam that produces close to 0.500" lift with 1.6 rockers there is no point adding 1.7 rockers because the heads won't flow any more with the added lift so you're stressing the valvetrain for no reason.

That cam will certainly have a noticable idle and the powerband will be 3000-6000rpm on a 302. For a carbed motor look for a cam with 110 LSA, 0.050" intake duration plays a big role in idle quality, at 200 deg and below you will get a smooth idle, 220 deg and above the idle gets rougher and rougher. The Comp 35-234-3 or 35-238-3 are examples of cams optimized for carb motors.

I'm going to use older flat tappet. What would you recommend me?? What about Summit 3601 (Duration at 050 inch Lift:218 int./228 exh. Advertised Duration:278 int./290 exh. Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.471 int./0.471 exh.) I'm just worry about the idle quality

THANKS. both my old 302 and 351 flat tappet ('92) use the Same cams?? what are the specs of that cam??-- I have no more information about that Melling, but it seems that already selled. Another one is a Summit 3601 (Duration at 050 inch Lift:218 int./228 exh. Advertised Duration:278 int./290 exh. Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.471 int./0.471 exh.) Its the double of the price I think its no good at idle. (I need to use air c.) Or do you recommend me a set of 1.7 rockers? (Proform 66878) with stock cam? its cheapest

Both of these motors use the same cams so there is no "351" cam per se. That Melling looks good given the limited specs you posted, do you know the advertised duration and lobe seperation angle?

What do you think is better? a New cam (204/214 dur 448/472 lift) or a 351w cam with 1.7 Rockers? Also, what are the specs of my actual cam on that 302? Hope you can help me and sorry for my bad english
