Hello, my name is Zac, I live in Clinton, to. And came across your profile. I was wondering if you had some time to chat about my new project. It's a 53' ford and I'm about to tackle he wiring... If you are interested, I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance!

Hope all is well. I wanted to reach out to you. I have the engine wired up now, but I can't seem to get it started. Do you have any tips to check distributor. I see 6V coming off ignition coil to distrib cap, but at the plugs (my coil wires are exposed on top of the plugs) I see nothing? And in addition, I'm not sure if gas is getting into the carburetor? Any checks or testing steps for that? I'll post to the forum but thought I'd check with you. The engine turns over well

Ok, my son found on the other side (driver side) on top of frame what appears to be the VIN. The title says 87HT29396, the truck shows * 87 *29396 * ?? Thanx.

the stamp is very light, you will have to strip the paint off to find it. Best to use a wire brush. I know that they used to stamp the frames in 3 spots but I am unaware that they continued that with the trucks starting in 48.

well after searching high and low, I cannot find the serial number. It appears someone painted the frame and there is no #. I've check everywhere. I have pics of the transmission top, etc. no luck. Inside of engine compartment there is a metal tag, but cannot be read. I've heard there are serial stampings under the cab, but I can't take it off.

If you are talking about the serial number, it is stamped on the passenger side frame rail, near the motor mount.Click the image to open in full size.
