I left out the best part - the PO had welded a top left side door hinge onto the bottom right side door jamb. The curve and the knuckles were wrong and it didn't fit the hinge in the door. I modified it so that I think it will work by cutting the single knuckle off and making new ones and heating and bending to the correct curve.

I did some work on the back just trying to get what I have working. I also found out that the door hinge frame that is in the bottom corner of each door had broken away and was just held in where the PO just put a bolt through it. To fix it I will need to cut the skin off of one side of the door and re-weld and repair the interior frame for the hinge. You sent me info on which hinges to look for so I may end up doing a rear door like yours if I can't get it to work as is. I am torn between the hatch back or the original way they opened. I have been working on the brake system (going to mount a firewall MC w/booster) and to do that I need to modify the existing aftermarket firewall and also trying to install a steering column and connections. It has rack and pinion already but no column at all. I need to finish this large job I have that may well last into winter before I really get into it. So a really long answer to a simple question!
