Ben, I love your truck! I'm about to fix my old 1950 F-1 up. Saw your posts concerning your color search. What is the name of the color you finally decided on? Ice blue? Thanks so much. -Mike

Its going well. Ive got it down to the frame and everything is media blasted. Putting on the Mustang II IFS right now and trying to decide if I leave in the old engine mounts and work around them or take them out.

I only have a few buddys around hear I can rap with about engines and such when I start to talk about how a cam works they look at me like im from some other planet. most of them know more about the moon than they do about a hotrod.

Hey Ben, I'm also in Austin. I recently purchased a '56 and have decided, after much research, to perform the jag swap. I'd be interested in talking sometime as I don't have any local "car buddies" to chat and bounce ideas off. I'm in SW Austin, what area of town are you?

Ben, Just got your message and yes still too new to receive anything. I think after 25 post I can. But thanks for the info. I'll keep posting and keep learning. What do you think about front suspension? Jag, mustang II, or straight axle? I would like to get a 8.8 for the rear also. Game plan so far is suspension then work my way up. would love to keep the flat head but I need more power to run A/C and 80 on the toll road (dreaming).

Hi Ben, while viewing a post, I noticed the lights you mounted in your frame horns. I don't remember ever seeing it done like that b4, I like it a lot, wonder how it would look on mine, Hmmmmmm.

For an IT guy i sure am clunky getting around in this forum. I was just reading a post from two years ago and saw a good shot of your Blue 50 Nice! The post was from 2010. I dont see mirrors on your truck? I do not want use the factory mirrors so i have been looking at some that are newer and screw into the door.

Also I had a chance to back track and look at your gallery of when you first brought her home. Very interesting.. Looks like someone at some point did some restoring.
Did you ever write any of that up as to who had it before etc.

I finally was able to get new magnaflo exhaust installed. I have a tag and have been driving the truck around locally. She is in the shop getting a new tierod, thats all they found wrong with the original front suspension. Well that and he said my front spring were not strong enough for the motor thats in it. hmmmm I need shocks anyway, what do you think about coil shocks? Sorry in advance for the long letter.
