Hey ImSoQuazy! I noticed back in February you were having some issues putting the front end back together? did you ever get that figured out? I'm having the same issue, I bought a 55' that's disassembled and it's tuff figuring out what goes where and in what order~!! Just curious if you had any info for me... thx!!

Paul, I'm not using the chains(thinking they will rub the paint), in fact I think I'm going to weld a washer and nut inside the tailgate roll and bolt mine shut. My tail gate works well but when I bought from Mid50's they cut these little 45's out of the top on each side of the tail gate ???
Not sure why but I think it would look better straight up, that's why I was hoping you had a pic of yours so I could make the call.
    Thanks Willy

Nice loooking truck! I noticed that you are using a 51-52 tailgate too, did you do anything with the sides where they are cut a a 45 deg angle by the chain hooks? If you could send me a pic I would greatly appreciate that because I'm torn as what to do there. Thanks

generally the newer engines and trannys are much bigger then the older ones and the tranny cross member will get in the way of proper positioning.

I always plan on removing it. I haven't found a single case where modern engine/trans will fit.
