Hi Mark, I was told you were the man. Could you look at my post in the Escape form under "Urgent Transmission Help"?

I forgot you worked at GTC. I am still there...Almost all the Ford people have left. Bruce P just left last week. I might be only Ford guy left. I think my cousin lives in same city as you do. Let me see what Bill says. Thanks. Gary P.

It's been three years since I talked to Bill. He was still in Michigan, and didn't have any plans to move. His email is williamedie@comcast.net. He lived just north of Milford, he's probably still there.

I'm in Port St Lucie, FL. When I left Ford in February, 2007, I went to Getrag working on a GM program. When GM ran out of money they cancelled our contract and we were all laid off. I left for Florida soon after.

If the piston is cracked the front face of the converter will show heat. Often it will start to turn blue. Turning off OD won't keep the converter unlocked. The only way to do that would be to disconnect the wire to the lockup solenoid. But that will flash the OD light and put the trans in failure mode, which is uglier than what you have now.

HI MArk....I sure do remember him...He and I were good friends...where is he now maybe he would do my truck for me....is he still in Michigan.....Are you in Michigan now....I still am living in NOrthville....I still see and talk to Dan every now and then too. On Monster Trans...I kind of figured that...If lockup piston is cracked...is the away to keep convertor open? I tried with the OD cancel switch but the concerns still surfaced? Is there any tc test to verify it broke...

I've only used transmissions built by Bill Edie (remember him from ATNPC?) and some local shops in Ocala, FL, where I used to live. I have heard good and bad about Monster Transmission, and I've even met the owners. I have never used one of their transmissions.

Hello stranger...wondered where you went> Gary P from atnpc(dans buddy)..Hope you are well first of all....My 97 5.4l F150 E4OD(268K) has the blinking OD light problem(firm upshifts/KO resets trans ok for few miles) and an P1728 code. Dealer wants to jump the gun with reman without doing any of the mechanical/electrical tests that were so carefully written to trouble shoot the E4OD properly. His only notion was the P1728 code. Did not complete any pinpoints tests or the tc tests that goes along with the concern. From your experience and design knowledge, what has been the most likely rc for this issue...Plan of attack is helpful at this time..Gary P....Hope to hear back from you. Thanks.

After reading some here on FTE last night...from what I read, I need to use my 93 solenoid pack to avoid spiking the ECM. I believe the newer range sensor/neutral safety switch comes with different wiring plugs. Anything else to look at??
P.S. I think I saw you're in Florida. Are you building trannys?? If so...how much??!!
