I just signed up here, so it'll be a few days before I can drop a private message. I don't have facebook, so I'll have to come up with something else.

The van shifts OK, and we wouldn't have given it a second thought except the pump started leaking. Seeing a message here or there about chewed up torque converters causing this, it looked like at 186,000 miles it might just be time to replace clutches, metal plates, seals, etc. We ordered a reman pump, and a decent triple clutch billet torque converter. We MIGHT tow an RV in the future, so we ordered up an Alto rebuild kit with graphite impregnated clutches. Finally, to keep temps down, we ordered a Transgo shift kit. The stock, ultra smooth slippery shifts feel nice on the butt, but they're murder for the transmission.

That said, we're new at this. Most everything we drive are manual tranmissions, so we may be screwing this up by the numbers without even knowing it. Any pointers gratefully accepted.

    Hi Mueckster,

I'm about to tear into my 4R100 to freshen it up a bit. I noticed from the following thread, that you've fabricated a couple of tools and I wonder if you'd be willing to share some measurements. I'd like to make a copy of your tools for this project. (or borrow or rent yours -- I see you're in Houston. My van is in San Antonio)

Van: 2003 E-350 Extended Cargo PSD 7.3. We joke that I traded a Honda S-2000 for the E-350 -- one two-seater for another. (We really did)

This is the thread where you mentioned the tools:

I'm thumbing through the ATSG 4R100 service manual now, and I see it's going to be quite a job. I think I'll take this slow. Thanks for all you're doing on ford Truck Enthusiasts! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Roland. Thanks for the note. Big Red sounds awesome. And, yes, I am still looking. If you could send me some more pix, or send me a URL to view some, that would be awesome. Thanks again!

I can absolutely pay the shipping both ways. Does PayPal work for you? I'm planning to do them over 4th of July weekend. So just enough time before that to make sure I have it in time. And as soon as I'm done I'll send it back. It's my DD so it won't be down for long. Here's my email if you want to contact me that way trucutmilling@gmail.com

Hi I was reading in a thread about a valve spring compressor you made for the 7.3. It was back in 2011. I was wondering if you still loan that out. Thanks

The avitar is just for today. "Buddy" will return at midnight, Pacific time. I have three for use on Memorial Day, and I thought that one was a good one to use this year. -M-
