Thanks for the tips Truxx. I dropped a 351 in a unibody back in the '70's and made my motor mounts out of 1/4" ply wood,,gottum like I liked um and took them to a buddies father and he made up the mount for me...fit very nice and had no problems with drive alignment.
Another on is the Vaseline petroleum jelly on all hose connections with or with out clamps. I learned it back I the '60s working on uncle sam's jet fighters, or course they had a long mil# to it, but it was basically pet jelly. I use it also on bulbs and electrical contacts when I run out of the HD stuff. Oh yeah, on the uncle sam's jets we used on the O-rings on all the fuel lines.
Thanks again for the Tips guys. I just bought my first F3, haven't got it yet, still in Kansas, can't wait thought,,,she's a beauty from the pics.

I cant seem to place you for some reason??? Do you have a pic of you or the car? I dont buy or didnt buy alot of parts from "Twilight Zone" as I call them. Just cleaning supplies and some things like that, but NO electric parts of any kind or certain other stuff. I'm really picky on parts. I mostly buy my stuff from Fisher's or NAPA but I did go in Autozone from time to time.

I would love to see pics and get more info on doing a Dakota frame swap. Currently I just have the front clip from the dakota because I was planning on using the IC crossmember. I have always thought a frame swap would be an interesting option. Everyone I've talked to about it says it's a headache and more work than putting a new IFS into the old frame. To me it always seemed like making new cab mounts and changing the bed wouldn't be that hard. What am I missing. Why is everyone so afraid of the frame swap? How high is the kick-up? Is there a dakota model with the same wheel base? Or do you have to shorten the frame no matter what? To you need to channel the cab floor at all or is there room for it before the kick-up?
Sorry I could go on and on with ??s Like I said before I currently just have the front clip but getting a new frame wouldn't be that difficult. If you were in my position would you do a frame swap or section the old frame?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hey Truxx-
I have a friend who is going to a car show in Pigeon Forge and he is interested in finding accommodations away from town. Am I remembering correctly that you posted in the past about a place up in the hills that you stayed that was really nice or am I just hallucinating again? If correct, can you give me some info? Thanks.

thanks for the reply about my vinyl problem, one other question ( of many) what do you mean about sticking it wet? My experience with contact cement is once it touchs it can't be moved, should I not wait until it is nearly dry or dry to the touch before putting them together?
