Ok. Well I still am having problems with the 99 F350 7.3. Refresher. Truck was running like **** I ran it nearly out of diesel one day and it started acting up of course. Wouldn't gain momentum going up hills etc. Figured it needed fuel filter changed . had a friend install one and he installed in backwards the first time when I went to leave I experienced nothing good. It died about 1/4 of a mile from starting point and I left a huge trail of fuel. He met me where it had stopped and when he went to check it out he had left the key on and fuel went squirting out of the fuel bowl like crazy I turned off the key and it stopped at that time he discovered below the filter was a wire thing he was not sure what it was but said he put it back the way he jad found it. It barely made it back to the shop where it has sat without being able to start ever since. He said he has checked the dudes bc the wait to start light doesnt come on, I noticed. He says

    Hey man!
I'm Scott, I posted about the 7.3 I recently posted having various issues. I'm new to diesels but I can turn a wrench. Word has it that you've got a way to read the codes on my truck? I'd love to come by and have you give it your diagnosis if at all possible! My number is 480-532-2047.
    Thanks!

Greg, what do you use for diagraming your pictures? Like the dotted red lines on the fuel system post?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reps! In no small part, your contributions to my PCM thread have made it a great exploration of issues also.
