I have a question about my 04 EB explorer. Its got the dual climate control. The issue I'm seeing is that with the morning temps outside being cooler now, the wife has had to turn the heat on. In the afternoons on the drive home she is having to use the A/C. The passenger side is blowing cool, but the drivers side vents are noticeably warmer. Its almost as if the blend door for the drivers side is slightly open. I'm not that familiar with the dual climate systems. Done a lot of work on the singles. Replaced many blend doors and heater cores in the F150's but nothing with explorers. Any ideas? I've taken the vacuum line off the control valve going to the heater core and believe it or not the drivers side temp did cool off a little, but its still noticeably warmer than the pass. side. I've not looked at it too much yet due to not having time yet.

    Hey @shorod,

I have a 2004 4.6L Ford Explorer and am trying to replace the camshaft position sensor; however, there seems to be a metal plate getting in the way. Would you happen to know how I can remove this plate to gain access to remove the CPS?

    Best,
    John

Thanks for your help! per your request - "I can provide you with the wiring diagram for the compressor clutch if you provide me with your e-mail address and the request (so I don't have to dig back through posts to figure out what I offered to provide). "

    Hi Rod
I don't know enough about how this site works to find what I wrote to you yesterday, but I do know we are limited to 1,000 characters, I originally had over 2,000, then spent a half hour shortening it. I'm John, the guy with a 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer with a second air door actuator I can't get to without removing the dash. Well, it's very loose now, but something near the airbag is not allowing the passenger side to move more than one or two inches. Would you please send me whatever you have in your manual that covers the final stages of dash removal and airbag removal. I am hoping to be able to move everything out far enough to access and replace the actuator. Where do you live, I am in the Seattle area. I would like to find something to do for you in appreciation for all the things you have done for so many others who I have been reading about here. Thanks, John jkloster1@gmail.com

    Shorod Uh Oh, too long.
I read what you said to another FTE person re Navi location of airbag parts. My problem is so-so related, you said you had info to email him. If you don't read this I hope someone else may have ideas.
I have 2003 Explorer which has dual air door actuators. Driver side relatively easy, passnger side hard. Trying to remove dash and move it a bit in hopes of access to second actuator. To temp open airbag area will let me see what I am facing. I know that many Navi are similar to other Ford products incl my Explorer. Would you be able to email me anything that might be of help? My email is jkloster1@gmail.com Am close to where I get the dash released. The problem area may be attached to an arched metal bracket to the left of the seat where airbag container is located. The defroster duct obscures most of area.
Anything you or anyone else reading this can help me with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
    John

Good afternoon Sir, I really apologize for bothering you, I'm just in serious need of some help. I have an 03 mountaineer, which I think is pretty similar to the explorer. Its my wifes vehicle and the steering extremely hard to turn, almost no power at all to the steering. I have no idea how to replace the pump or if that's even the problem. I don't have the extra money to take it to a shop at the moment and I'm pretty mechanically inclined I just don't know this vehicle. If you could please send a diagram or anything at all I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time......Wayne Andrews....palerider0331@gmail.com
