Description:
She's my cherry; my first ever diesel. Ive always loved towing. When I was little I learned to drive towing a 4 horse trailer loaded on the weekend, hitched to a bumper hitch on a truck with no electric brake control. The truck was an old 1965 Chevy 3 speed on the column, short bed with a 350 and a 2 55 air conditioner. I remember passing a semi on a narrow bridge and my knuckles and fingers going numb. All at age 12. My father was usually passed out in the passenger seat. Nowadays people would say thats crazy, and it would be. Anyway, my beautiful wife bought this for me for my birthday. Ive always loved diesels, especially since I became a Paramedic. There's just something about that turbo whine and that diesel engine knock that I can't get enough of. Although these 08's are the most quiet diesels I've ever ridden in.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
5 inch MRBP exhaust, K&N Filter, Banks Billet torque converter
Suspension Modifications:
Bone stock, except for the crappy Goodyears (20"

she came with, which lasted a measly 34000. I put a set of Michelins on her and MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE. With the GoodYears I could never put 65lbs in them without feeling every rock or bug I ran over. Now I know why Michelin's motto man looks like a marshmallow. These tires run so soft, like a pillow, and have 65 all around, and yes, they have the same load range as the GYears. I ran 55lbs in the GYears, and they wore evenly. 65 just seemed harsh when I wasnt pulling. I always aired them up when I towed though. But adding the Michelins made such a difference in the ride quality I'll never buy another brand of tire for her. She's got prettier shoes now than when the first pic's were taken at the Dealership.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Michelin LTX AT/2 P275/65/R20's, wonderful tires and well worth the price.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Bedliner with pad under it and rubber mat on top, B&W gooseneck hitch in (under) the bed. Garmin GPS 880 and a velour dashpad custom made to fit her. Limo tint on the rear; my tinter advised me if I was going to be towing to keep the fronts at 20%, and I'm glad I did. At night its easier to see what Im towing with the 20% versus the 5% tint. Thats about it.
Future Modifications:
Air ride seats, programmer (maybe) and air suspension kit for a finishing touch.
