Description:

1978 Full size Cummins powered Bronco. I'm still building it and plan to have it running and roadworthy by mid-October. Paint will be a gray and black WWII Iowa-class battleship camo scheme.

Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:

1991 all mechanical 5.9L Cummins turbodiesel engine, custom transmission adapter and billet flexplate from Destroked.com, C6 3-speed automatic, 3.50 gears, traction-lock carriers front and rear, stock axles. 3200 rpm governor spring, Denny T fuel pin, pump timing advanced, fuel screw turned up. Stock 3" downpipe, no muffler, exhaust exits under passenger door.
Est. 250 hp and 650 ft/lbs.

Suspension Modifications:

Complete 6" Skyjacker suspension with poly bushings, dropped trac bar mount and a dropped pitman arm. The brake booster, master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders are new '78 F350 upgrades. I also installed an F800 steering shaft u-joint for added durability.

Wheels/Tires Modifications:

35" mud tires on stock 15" x 10" aluminum slot mags.

Interior/Exterior Modifications:

Front bucket seats from a 1993 Aerostar van, center console delete, back seat mount is moved 10 inches toward the rear of the vehicle for much greater rear passenger leg room.

Future Modifications:

S300 turbocharger, 3" inlet tubing, powerstroke intercooler, bigger injectors, 5" downpipe and exhaust. Shooting for 350hp and 750+ ft/lbs on the stock pump. Piston lift pump, Moser 35 spline rear axles with detroit locker carrier, and 3.00 gears front and rear. A lower stall speed HD Torque converter.
