Description:

I bought this truck from a retired mechanic who, after putting in a crate rebuilt engine, found it had a compression issue in one of the cylinders. He had put a great deal of time and money into this truck and was so disgusted by the engine, he let it sit for a couple of years before selling it to me for $500.00. I later fixed the compression issue by pulling the head and having the exhaust valve seat replaced.

Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:

Transmission hasn't been modded yet. The engine is a transplanted rebuilt 400 that's been bored .060" over.

Suspension Modifications:

Is a broken leaf spring considered a modification? This truck had a camper strapped to it at some point and the springs didn't seem to like it too much... I acquired 2 leaf spring packs from a '78 Bronco that I'm in the process of rebuilding to put on this truck...

Wheels/Tires Modifications:

I had taken the stock steelies off and put 4 15x6 "styled steel wheels" from the 1978 truck/van line on. I later acquired 5 15x8 spoked wheels from an '88 Bronco but found that they had too much negative offset and wouldn't clear the tie-rods. I'm now running a set of black 15x8 Allied Daytona's. The tires are 31x10.50x15 Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S...

Interior/Exterior Modifications:

Interior: Took the factory AM radio out and put in an old AM/FM/cassette in so I could listen to some tunes - then, later, I took that out and replaced it with an AM/FM/CD... I found someone who had a dash bezel and radio bracket that had already been cut for these newer-style stereos so, I didn't have to cut-up my original bezel/bracket
Exterior: It has a camper shell - It's kinda grown on me. There's also a set of running boards bolted to the truck that are gawdawful strong - I can stand on these things and jump up-and-down and they don't budge... I installed a locking hood latch that came off an Econoline but I need to run a longer cable for the pull handle...

Future Modifications:

Bigger tires... Cutting large sections of metal out of the bed so I can weld in new large sections of rust-free metal to repair the wheel arches... A brush guard would also be nice... Visors - the sun hates me so I try and block it out as much as possible lol - I'm looking for "vent visors" for the windows and one of those big exterior visors for the windshield...
