I named the truck Big Lou's Big Rig for My Pomeranian Lou-Lou. She's the one sitting on the hood in my avatar.
VIN: F60CE831004
1966 Ford F600 Fuel/Oil Tanker
Built in March of 1966 at Mahwah, NJ Plant
FE/FT 332 cubic Inch, 2 barrell Carb.
NP435 4 speed Manual Transmission
Eaton 13802 2-speed rear differential
17,000lb GVW
158 inch wheelbase
Standard Cab, Grey vinyl bench, Rangoon Red interior paint
Rangoon Red exterior(now 2-tone, Rangoon Red bottom, White top)
Truck was used as a sign for a bbq restaurant, that was formerly the truck owner's fuel oil dist. station. Truck sat idle for approximately 2 years.
I bought for $800.
I paid $250 for towing from Charlotte, NC to Chester, SC.
I replaced the fuel pump for $32.00.
I bought a battery for $18.20(the old battery still had a 32.00 credit on it)
I replaced the 3ft fuel line from Tank to tubing under truck. = $11.00
I had the brakes bled by a friend in trade for my electrical services.
The truck now runs perfectly and stops on a dime (well, almost...0 for a heavy truck).
The pumping system is in perfect working order but I don't plan on starting a fuel business or getting Hazmat CDL's.
Any body want to buy or trade for the tank body?
It is a 3 compartment 1500 gallon fuel oil/off-road diesel tank made by Atlas in Raleigh, NC. It has a Lockheed Pumping system on it. the model of the tank is "PL"
Thanks,
Erich

Hopefully replace Tanker body with a more useful bed, like an electrical Cherry picker/bucket boom body, dump body, etc. Read more ยป
