Hey Mike, I have a couple of 97 ford trucks that need a little pulling apart and putting back together. I'm having a little trouble as they've both been border line hacked together already. So I have no idea what equipment is actually original and what isnt.
I have a 97 f150 with a manufacture date of 3/96 and VIN 1FTDX1866VKA36475 with an engine in it that has 3/5/98 manufacture date and 7G840AA on the valve cover label. I'm assuming this isn't the original engine? How do I go about finding the information on what this engine actually is? And do the intake stampings tell what the intake is actually for? I've been searching constantly trying to figure out how to decode the engine label, but I can't find anything. Only VIN decoders. If you can point me in the right direction, I would SERIOUSLY appreciate it.
