It's not far from a bolt in. The solenoids are different, but you can use the solenoids from the E4OD. They will work fine.

There is a different pump. The only important difference is in the converter lockup circuit. The E4OD pump has a 0.030" orifice, the 4R100 pump has a 0.250" hole. This will cause the lockup to SLAM on. Some people live with it, some change the pump to the E4OD pump.

The 4R100 has two speed sensors that the E4OD does not have. Just ignore them, leave them in place to plug the holes.

    Mark,
Looks like you are the "go-two" guy for Ford transmissions.
Have been getting conflicting opinions from my Ford contacts...
Background, I currently run 1997 7.3L E-series E4OD with less than 30k miles from Jasper and their stock torque converter and will have to replace torque converter.
    I have acquired a 2002 4R100 7.3L F-series with lower 10k miles.
Would like to swap E4OD to 4R100. Looking for advice of what issues I am faced with to make this transplant.
    Randy
