Hi,
I've been searching the threads for help and ran across the one where you mentioned your experience rebuilding alternators. I've got a 3G unit with bad slip-rings(very,very bad). How do you get them off? There doesn't appear to be anywhere to set a puller or position a bearing separator to press them off. Also, is there a trick to removing the center section with the field coils and diode mounting plate? Mine can be pryed about a1/8" and stops. I don't want to force and break anything. I hope you don't mind me contacting you this way but I'm getting desperate.
