Where to buy a back glass

I have a '70 F-100, hence the name. It isn't running, but it is a project in the works ( have wayy too many and limited time ) the other day my neighhtbor was hitting golf balls in my backyard, which he uses because it is like a driving range, 250 yards to the back fence. He was hitting back toward the house and one of his balls got away from him and landed in the bed of the Ford, bounced off the spare tire, and straight into the back glass. It didn't come completely out, just the hole where the ball went in is the only hole, but it is cracked all over, looks like a million cracks. I was wondering where could I find a sliding back glass to put in? Or is there even a sliding back glass made for this year truck. Any info is appreciated.

well that's good to know. Is there any aftermarket kits you can buy for a sliding back glass, perhaps that is tinted already?

Hey there,

The most likely place is the starter solenoid. If it doesn't blow a fuse when it happens it's almost gotta be the solenoid because it's on of the few things that doesn't have a fuse.

I have a slider I took out of my 70 camper with green tint. I want to replace with a solid panel. I'll give it to you if you pay shipping. What do you think? $20 or $25 max? Also looking for that soid green back glass. Any body with 1. Thanks? Blake

70 ranger, We all like to help out when a fellow Ford enthusiest has a need, but out right hocking your wares is against the rules here. The same goes for asking if anyone has an item for sale. They aren't real tough about it and if you just mention that you have it or need it and for anyone that can offer assistance to e-mail you. Otherwise FTE prefers that you use the classifieds to sell items or place item wanted ads. By the way welcome aboard. this is a really great bunch of guys. I don't get over to the other sections for older pickups but the people here on the 67-72 section are some of the most polite and helpful in the whole site. Just be careful in the General conversation and Pigpen. There are a couple of loose cannons over there.

70F100,
I work for a major auto glass company, and just wanted to let you know you can get a privacy(dark tint) back glass slider at just about any auto glass shop for under $200. Depending on the brand you may need a new gasket. Hope this helps!

70 ranger was not hocking his wares, i am pretty sure he said he would give it away if they were to pay the shipping cost, i dont think this violates the rules. but maybe asking if anyone had a solid one does. i think the moderater would have let this go though since he was nice enough to give the slider one away to a fellow FTE'r.

I have a solid back glass that I want to get rid of.. I want to replace it with a slider in my truck. Too bad there isn't a way to get it down to arkansas.. probably cheaper to find something in a junkyards in your area.

Woohoo!!! 500 POSTS

Opiewan, I didn't really think blueovaler stepped over the line and aparently the moderator didn't either. It was just intended as a friendly reminder to a new user and how we usually approach the situation by doing any swapping between private partys via e-mail and not in a post.
