Spark plug thread repair Time-Sert Vs Cal Van tool
Which is better?
after blowing out the 3rd plug in 2 years on my F150 (5.4), I have decided to buy the tool and fix it myself.
Not sure which to go with.
Time Sert:
Crimps onto the head, locking itself in place. But made of Aluminum.
Cal Van
Made of steel, But use JB Weld to lock in place???
I have heard good things about both, but cant make a decision.
Any help?
Thanks

Calvan works great. The first time I borrowed one, bought one for the second round. The first kit says use JB Weld. The kit I bought says use JB or any Equivelant. I borrow the kit from a technician friend and said use Red Locktite. He never had one return, so thats what I used, no problems. I can vouch for the kit, however. When, you blow out the filings, blow them out, Blow them out again, then blow some more. I don't have a scope to check like recommended.
