Chevrolet challenges Ford; Ford declines
Chevrolet Challenges Ford to a Heavy-Duty Towing Showdown! - PickupTrucks.com News
This is dated September 30; maybe it has been posted here but I missed it. Looks like GM will do it anyway.
I hope it really is like to like configured trucks with substantial identical loads.
I don't agree with all the talk about like rear axle ratios. Tranny ratios are not the same.
If they go with duallys and both have 3.73 that should be fair.

This is really a non issue. Nobody in their right mind would race up a mountain with a heavy load to see if they can beat the other truck in the real world.
Both trucks have lots of power and a good tranny. What it comes down to in the real world is which design philosophy you prefer. Ford and GM are remarkably different in the way that they engineer the "HD" aspect of a truck.

Silly post. It's okay to prefer a manufacturer a little but unless you have a large amount of shares in Ford what's the point of blind loyalty? I like my truck but when it's time for a new one I'll look at Dodge (if they up their lagging GVWRs), GM and Ford. Basically, first choice is ford but any 6.7 mishaps and I'll have no issue jumping ship.

while your free to jump ship if you choose, there are alot of FORD loyalists who would continue to buy blue oval even if they had a problem in the past..
i wouldnt care if dodge and chevy had a better truck, i'd still purchase the ford..
