The vb has directions with it. It's a pretty easy install, pull the pan, there it is. You should get a new filter and gasket, they come in a kit. If you change the filter, make sure you get the old rubber gasket/oring out where the old one was.

Agree with that, just if your gasket is OK and its reusable (OEM not a cork gasket) you can reuse it, as I did, en get a torque wrench to install correct the VB.

hey guys thanks for all the help I got the tru-cool cooler, racerx vb, an in-line filter, and a drain plug all installed with no big problems today. the vb makes the trans shift really nice and solid and I couldn't get the temps over 150 today romping on it for a half hour straight. the real test comes tomorrow though when I take it on a 1.5 hr highway trip. These trips are usually where I see the highest tranny temps (185-190) so I'll let you know the results. 4.10s + 35s + 80-85 mph on the highway = an angry tranny

Well just arrived after my 1.5 hr highway run and it was a complete failure. The tranny got up to the same temp 180 and now the overdrive is flashing. Please help I can't afford to not have a vehicle right now.

If you installed the thermostatic bypass with your trucool 180 will be you trans temp unless it is getting really hot. I am working on figuring out how to modify that bypass valve for lower temps but I haven't taken the plunge yet.

As for the blinking light you need to find a way to pull codes to see what it up. Then we can go from to fix the problem.

Very hard to say. Once we have the code we should be able to figure that out. I doubt its a coincidence.

Well I bought a cheap scanner at autozone and I didn't find the code so I returned it but the overdrive is still flashing. Here are some symptoms: when I switch it from drive to reverse and vice versa it is going very fast like the idle has been upped. Also when I go from reverse to park it idles up to 1000 and then goes back to about 600. Now as I'm idiling it is surging from 600 to about 650. Ughhhhh any tips?

So my buddy had the genius idea to disconnect the batteries and guess what? The flashing stopped and all the symptoms are gone. Will this come back or am I just the biggest idiot of all time?!

Unhooking the batteries just cleared the code. It might come back and it might not. Go drive it and see what happens. Just don't go far from home
