Everyone,

i have a 1997 f250 light duty. It has the 5.4 engine with the 4 speed automatic tranny. It has approx 170,000 miles.

I have a problem when I try to select the gear, it sounds like it is stripped and when I put it in reverse it does nothing, I have to go to neutral to get it to be in reverse.

Anyone ever have this issue? Is the linkage mechanical or electronic?
