I plan on putting a Weiand 8012 intake on my 460ci on my '86 F350. The Weiand has the carb sitting 3-4 inches higher than on the factory intake. The only thing stopping the project is the transmission kickdown rod as I am new with them. Would the rod be able to be adjusted to the new carb position or would I need to buy an aftermarket kit to accomplish this. As for the carb I am sticking with the factory Holley 4180 until I can afford a BG Road Demon so I might be adjusting it twice.

 

You'll either need to lengthen the old rod or use an aftermarket cable kick down kit.

I ordered the kit and it is in route. I have no experience with the kickdown other than knowing what it does. How hard are these to install and adjust?

 

Follow the directions and it should be easy.
