2006 Expy Door Locks
I know the door locks automatically lock when the tranny is put into drive.
When arriving at a destination, putting the tranny back into PARK and shutting off the ignition, the locks do NOT automatically unlock as on other vehicles we've previously owned. The door unlock switch must be pressed from either the driver's or front passenger door to unlock the doors, especially for the rear passenger doors. If someone is sitting in the rear seats, the doors do NOT unlock when the door handle is pulled as to open the door. The child-proof locks for both rear doors are NOT activated. This is not so much of an issue with the driver's or front passenger doors, as these doors unlock when the handle is pulled to open either door.
My question is, is it possible to program or re-program the door locks to automatically unlock when the tranny is put back into PARK or the ignition is shut off? I have a set of the Ford Factory Service Manuals for the 2006 Expy, but cannot find anything specifically on this.
Thank you all in advance for your help!!! Dan in Colorado.............

No you cannot change the way it works. It was designed this way as a safety precaution. You can disable the autolock feature altogether, but that's all.
