I have a 78 150 351 400 cc 4wd .I took it to get it inspected and they told me that it fail becuse it had no converer or emmision.It never had one.How do I prove it to the computer.The last couple of year I just explain that this model was the last one ford built without emmision system. tHE COMPUTER won't listen

welcome to FTE and the NC chapter. If I remember, Ill look it up in the inspection book tomorrow and see what it says as far as what the '78 truck is supposed to have for emmissions equip. I know some vehicles of that era can be tricky. It may come down to you having to go to your local DMV office and get some help and or a waiver.

It should have an emissions sticker under the hood somewhere. If it was required to have a catalytic converter, it will have "Catalyst" written on the sticker. If it's not there, it did not have one and they should not require one to be there in the inspection. If you haven't paid them for the inspection yet, you could always try taking it to another shop.
