Ford extended warranty

I extended the warranty to 6 yrs 72K when I bought my truck. Doing more driving than I planned on. Anyone know off top your head if I can add more years or miles? Just a few months old with 7K miles

You probably have 30 days to cancel....

There are a lot of variables to this question

Bumper to bumper / Power train only, and between
Years
Miles
Ded
rental car option

There are sites that sell warranty at cost + $xxx

They will be able to quote you.

I got

7yr/125k B2B, $200 ded, no car...
Check around

I consider insurance to be just that, insurance. (not prepaid maintenance).
I'm protecting myself against the BIG $$$ issues.

So, high ded, no car. makes sense to me.
Remember the engine has 5/100000 included.

I was told the engine has a 5yr/60000 mile warranty. I was surprised since my 6.0 had 100,000 mile warranty and the 6.7 doesn't.

Maybe my sales was wrong...

You were told wrong

Power train is 5/60000 as you stated (incl gas engines)
Diesel listed in the diesel Suplement lists the ENGINE as 5/100000....

Tranny not, just the engine....
No change from prior years.

From the warranty PDF, 6th printing:

Extended warranty coverage periods are available for certain
vehicle parts and conditions. Specifically,

(1) Your vehicle’s Powertrain components are covered for five years or
60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The extended coverage applies to
the Engine: all internal lubricated parts, cylinder block, cylinder heads,
electrical fuel pump, electronic engine control unit, engine mounts,
flywheel, injection pump, manifold (exhaust and intake), manifold bolts,
oil pan, oil pump, seals and gaskets, thermostat, thermostat housing,
timing chain cover, timing chain (gears or belt),
turbocharger/supercharger unit, valve covers, water pump;
Transmission: all internal parts, clutch cover, seals and gaskets, torque
converter, transfer case (including all internal parts), transmission case,
transmission mounts; Front-Wheel Drive: axle shafts, bearings (front
and rear), center support bearing, drive shafts, final drive housing
(including all internal parts), hubs-automatic front locking (four-wheel
drive), locking rings (four-wheel drive), seals and gaskets, universal and
constant velocity joints; Rear-Wheel Drive: axle shafts, bearings (front
and rear), center support bearing, drive axle housing (including all
internal parts), drive shaft, propeller shafts, retainers, supports, seals and
gaskets, universal and constant velocity joints.

(2) Your vehicle’s safety belts and air bag Supplemental Restraint System
(SRS) are covered for an extended Safety Restraint Coverage Period,
which lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

(3) Your vehicle’s body sheet metal panels are covered for an extended
Corrosion Coverage Period, which lasts for five years, regardless of miles
driven. The extended warranty coverage only applies if a body sheet
metal panel becomes perforated due to corrosion during normal use due
to a manufacturing defect in factory-supplied materials or factory
workmanship. For damage caused by airborne material (environmental
fallout) where there is no factory-related defect involved and therefore
no warranty − our policy is to provide free repair of paint damage due to
the airborne material for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs
first.

(4) Your vehicle’s direct injection diesel engine and certain engine
components are covered during the PowerStroke Diesel Engine Coverage
Period, which lasts for five years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs
first. The following parts are covered during this extended coverage
period: the engine, cylinder block, heads and all internal parts, intake
and exhaust manifolds, timing gear, harmonic balancer, valve covers, oil
pan and pump, water pump, fuel system (excluding fuel lines, fuel tank
and frame mounted fuel conditioning module sometimes referred to as
the frame mounted pump/filter/water separator), high pressure lines,
gaskets and seals, glow plugs, turbocharger, two-stage turbocharger
assembly, turbocharger actuator, powertrain control module, engine
control module, high pressure fuel injection pump assembly, electronic
driver unit, injectors, injection pressure sensor, fuel rail pressure sensor,
high pressure oil regulator, exhaust back pressure regulator and sensor,
exhaust pressure sensor, manifold pressure sensor, intake air
temperature sensor, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor,
accelerator switch.

NOTE: Some components may also be covered by the Emissions
Warranties. For more information, see pages 17-31.

I went with the extended warranty Geico offered when I bought the truck - much cheaper than Ford's and more inclusive.

The first paragraph below is puzzling. You have to buy the Geico policy while you still have 19 months or 21,000 miles on your factory warranty?
And a "small premium each policy period"? How small? How long is the policy period? What if you forget to renew?

From Geico's page:
Your new car is your baby, so it deserves a little extra protection. MBI is available for new or leased cars that are less than 15 months old and with less than 15,000 miles.

Once you've purchased MBI, you can renew it for up to seven years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). After a $250 deductible on a covered loss, MBI covers repairs to all mechanical parts of the car.

GEICO's MBI coverage:
Includes all parts and systems not just the specific list of items covered by most dealer warranties.
Saves you money, charging only a small premium per each policy period, instead of a large lump-sum payment up front.
Lets you get your car repaired wherever you like.

Exclusions to this policy include regular maintenance services such as tune-ups, suspension alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubrication, coolant and fluids, spark plugs, brake pads and linings, brake shoes, and tires. Also, breakdown repairs made necessary by intentional damage, corrosion, misuse, or improper maintenance are not covered. Mechanical Breakdown Insurance coverage is in excess of coverage provided by your manufacturer's warranty."

That is what I have on my 6.4. They paid for a radiator hose this summer minus the ded.

They also have rental car.

From Geico's page:
Each policy period is 6 months. You can run this for up to 100K miles. It is basically bumper to bumper except normal wear and maint items you would be expected to pay for yourself.

250 ded for me but everything is included. To include if your hpfp had an issue because of water...everything.

Here's what I get for $69.50 every six months:

Mechanical Breakdown Insurance is similar to a dealer's warranty but it is usually much more affordable than a car dealership's extended warranty and in some instances covers much more. A $250 deductible applies each covered loss. It also provides daily coverage for expenses incurred due to rental of a substitute vehicle (up to $120 per mechanical breakdown or failure) and up to $40 for towing expenses incurred because of the mechanical breakdown or failure. It can only be added when the vehicle is a new vehicle, is fewer than 15 months old, the odometer reads fewer than 15,000 miles, and you are the first titleholder of the vehicle. Once purchased, MBI can be renewed for up to 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). This material is intended for general information only. It does not expand coverage beyond the policy contract. Please refer to your policy contract for any specific information or questions on applicability of coverage.
I beleive it was a similar policy that helped Rick out with his HPFP repair, which is another reason I'm sold on this as opposed to Ford's. Even if Ford denies a warranty claim, Geico won't.

Forgot to add - this was a default part of my policy when I bought my truck and updated my info with them. If you're already covered, they should have included it in your next premium. If not, the way I read it is that if you bought the truck new less than 15 months and 15,000 miles ago, you can buy it. And it just becomes part of premium, listed with your collision coverage, etc. Renewal is automatic each time you renew your policy (every six months), and you don't have to do anything special, they'll keep it on there until you ask to have it removed. Or you hit 100K on the odometer. For less than $150/year, pretty easy and reasonable.

Hmm, I like this route (Geico is our policy holder).

Anyone know if you get your money back on the Ford ESP?
