First light of day in over four years
This past weekend, I finally emptied out the 10x20 storage we had for over four years. In there, I kept the best parts for my trucks, including this frame.
I bought this frame, along with a 49 Panel parts truck about five years ago. The PO was an engineer and meticulously installed a Fatman Fabrications MII front end and bought all of the pre-made boxing plates for the frame. He also installed new rear leaf springs with height adjustable front shackles. Originally, it had the stock rear end, but I replaced it with a 9". My friend then boxed the frame, installed the engine/trans mounting brackets for a SBC 350 and 200R4 trans, and then dropped in the powerplant.
I've been saving this frame for a long time to put under the 51, but in discussions with my father-in-law, we decided that it would be best to put the 9" under the current frame, rebuild the front suspension and install a disk brake kit.
I'll be putting up the frame for sale sale as-is, with the exception of the 9" rear end. I'll be sad to see her go.

Those are the remaining boxing plates. If you look closely, you'll see that both frame rails are not boxed in the middle. The transmission crossmember is not bolted/welded in yet, so the boxing plates were left to be put in after the transmission crossmember was completely installed.

Yes, I am! I'm starting my 2011 resolution early. I'm trying to be mostly done with all of the projects and cleanse myself of all of the left over parts. Plus, I'm trying to free up some space for additional part trucks in the future. I have a lead on a fairly inexpensive parts 48 Panel truck.
The frame sat in storage for many years and now it's time for someone else to use it. Neither I, nor my father in law, have the time or the money involved in a frame swap. It'll be much easier and cheaper to keep the existing frame on the Panel and do some mods to it.
It's a 48-52 F1 frame. Maybe this picture will help.
Just found out that the 200R4 transmission is desirable. It's almost the same as a 700R4. The 200R4 is an auto w/overdrive. It's good for cruising at highway speeds. With the 9" rear, it would have hauled a$$.

Yes I can clearly see the difference with this picture, whoever picks it up will save themselves a pile of work.
