Got pics..Every single think hooked up but the other side of the module and another plug pic enclosed...76 and 9 take the same blue grommet module but there is only the one oval black plug from the cab which plugged into the one side of the module but there is no other black oval plug coming from cab just these green ones,is there a adapter that im missing?
Check out the pics please...had no interest in swapping the 76 harness to 79 cab because it was a birdsnest and this one is real nice..but didnt have 79 under hood harness, like i said everything is good but the ignition and the one other pic enclosed.

Great info friend...last problem is:This is a external coil old style distributor..i know the 79's had the coil pack low profile dist which i dont believe they make for a FE is this problem solvable??Engine is mid 70's that had the blue duraspark
What does DSI and DSII stand for thanks again..you are a big help...Jason

Duraspark I
Duraspark II
Duraspark III
You were thinking of the EEC ignition with the integral IM that came out in the 80's

Just an amateur here, thinking aloud. You said FE, so I'm assuming the motor is an FE from the 76? So essentially what you're doing is converting your 76 underhood stuff to a duraspark 2.
Look at the duraspark 2 schematic that steponit posted.
My 1977 F250 looks just like the duraspark 2 schematic. (it has the 460)
My (blue grommet) module has only two plastic plugs, one is a two wire plug, which connects into two wires coming from the firewall/cab, the other plug (a four wire) goes to the distributor, with one wire branching off and going to the coil.
I wonder if your FE will need a different distributor.

1976 and 1979 both have DS-II. Blue Grommet.
DS-I was 1974-1975 only. Black and Green Grommet.
...one oval black plug from the cab which plugged into the one side of the module but there is no other black oval plug coming from cab just these green ones...
That is because the other DS-II module harness is a seperate engine harness that goes to the distributor and to the coil. The other DS-II plug doesn't coonect to the cab harness. It connects to the engine harness. Which then connects the coil and distributor.
Those other wires (I cant see the colors of the wires well) are for smog controls, Ammeter wires, etc.. that are also engine compartment wires. Seperate from the main cab. Some of those plugs will remain empty due to the 1976-1979 difference.
