55 F600 value

I just went to go see, a rust free truck. One of the best shape trucks that I have come across. It was also running up to a few months ago. Guy told me it was on a farm here in califonia all it's life. So i'm thinking if this is worth spending time trying to find someone to haul it back home (75 mile from the truck) He will let it go for $800

Howdy,

If it's a "rust free" truck as you describe, it is absolutely worth every bit of $800 + what ever it costs you to get it home!

Understand though......if it has "widow-maker" wheels, you'll need to find "safe" wheels and good tires for it if it doesn't have good tires on it.

I have $2800 in new radial TOYO 9.00-20 tires on the front and 4 recapped radials on the back... including new tubes, flaps, and rebuilt lock-ring wheels. (pics in my gallery)

post some pictures!

Cheers,

Rick

nice truck, good shape, but it is a 53, unless someone put on another hood and a 53 grille...

with the V-8 emblem on the grille it should have aflathead...

What engine does it have? Overhead valve or flat?

You probably do have widow-makers. There's several threads here that address them.

Either way, great looking truck!

Cheers,

Rick

Did any of the larger trucks get OHV engines in '53?

I know 54 was the first year for OHV's in the pickups.

Buy It.

I could use that one. So buy it and it should have a 239 flathead (F1-6)
and F700 up will have 256 thru 317 Y block to 1956 302 or 332 Y.
Small trucks 1954 ,the start of Yblock "239" that shortly
got bumped up to 272.
